Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind is looking for new allotment volunteers within the Horticulture department. We need volunteers who are committed and enthusiastic about supporting others in the great outdoors. This is a very rewarding environment for our volunteers and they provide essential support to the participants.
We currently run two allotments in Hyde: Baron Road, which is a weekly drop-in on a Wednesday and Grange Road, which is a supported gardening service for people with learning difficulties which runs Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm. We are looking for volunteers to support both of these ventures. The role involves working with people who have increased support needs; some have Mental Health concerns and others have both learning and physical disabilities. So, if you are interested in supporting others in a non-traditional therapeutic environment, in all weathers, why not come and join us?
We have a 5 week training course for volunteers starting on the 4th November. Interviews for a place on this course will be held week commencing 20th October. If you would like to attend then please send a completed application forms to Clare@togmind.org
Check out the Volunteering page for the role specification and application form.
