About Us

Ashton Café

Who’s in the kitchen? Kevin, our café chef manager, originally completed his apprenticeship at a world renown restaurant in London before running a series of successful vegetarian eateries in the Midlands. He has a passion for tasty healthy food that shines through all of his cooking. Surinder from Delhi is the assistant chef here and he trained at Tameside College. Originally a café volunteer, he brings his international vegetarian cooking to the café. Amy, also a café volunteer originally, has joined the team at Topaz after three years working in our sister cafe in Duklinfield. Amy makes our gluten free and vegan cakes. Volunteers are also key to the café team, bringing their talent as well as gaining experience in working in a vegetarian café.
